Was ist ein IBM 3161?
Ich zitiere aus dem Handbuch¹ S. 1-2/1-3:
The IBM 3161 and 3163 Display Stations are a family of general purpose asynchronous ASCII/ISO display stations that are designed to attach to both IBM and non-IBM systems [...] The 3161 is a high function, ASCII workstation which offers such features as menu set-up, definable function keys, split-screen, and character and field attributes. It can also emulate five non-IBM entry level ASCII devices (ADDS Viewpoint, Hazeltine 1500, Lear Siegler ADM 3A and ADM 5, and TeleVideo 910).
Kurz: ein ASCII-Terminal.
Warum eine Homepage für das IBM 3161?
Es gibt mehrere Gründe:
- Zehnjähriges Jubiläum
- Habe billig eines erstanden
- Gar nicht übel (jedenfalls 95 mal besser als Bindoof)
- Es gibt noch keine
Software fürs IBM 3161
Ich habe eine Terminfo-Datei für das IBM 3161 geschrieben.
Sie ist für Systeme gedacht, bei denen keine Definition für das IBM
3161 mitgeliefert mit (z. B. HP-UX). Sie ist aber auch so nicht
schlecht, da sie die Funktionstasten voll unterstützt – so macht z.
B. die keysh von HP richtig Spaß. Für tsm(1) sollte
man TSMTERM=3151 setzen.
Zur Installation siehe tic(1M). Eine termcap-Version wird es sicher
nicht geben.
